These classic titles by Sasek, originally published between 1959-1974 are facsimile editions of his original books. The vibrant illustrations have been preserved, remaining true to his vision, and where applicable, facts have been updated, appearing on a "This is...Today" page at the back of each book. The charming illustrations, coupled with Sasek’s witty, playful narrative, make for perfect souvenirs that will delight both children and their parents, many of whom remember the titles from their own childhood.

Why so many different names? Cape Canaveral was renamed Cape Kennedy after the assassination of President Kennedy in 1963. However, the residents weren't so keen and reclaimed the name Cape Canaveral in 1974. The NASA installation based there now goes by the name Kennedy Space Center, so you can see why it gets confusing! These classic titles by Sasek are facsimile editions of his original books.

This title was first published as This is Cape Canaveral, then as This is Cape Kennedy. It was reissued in June 2009 as This is the Way to the Moon.

Author and illustrator M. Sasek (1916–1980) was born in Prague, Czechoslovakia. He is best remembered for his classic stories on the great cities of the world. He worked as a painter and illustrator for most of his life. Starting with This is Paris published in 1958, the books he wrote painted a delightful and evocative picture of some of the world's great cities (and countries!).
